I've practiced natural approaches to healing since my mid-twenties, when I had my first child and shifted from teaching Chinese language and culture, to working part-time in a natural health clinic. Dr. Shearer was an osteopath who practiced iridology and provided health supplements. It was my introduction to yoga, chiropractic, dowsing, handwriting analysis, foot reflexology, psychic readings, color therapy, organic gardening and cooking. It was a wonder-full new world to me.

As our family grew to five children, I focused on keeping them healthy with nutrition and herbs, flower essences and homeopathics. I studied swedish massage, energy-balancing, polarity and cranio-sacral therapy. It was a learning of love.

I opted to study to become a Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist, because it would allow me to offer a wide range of modalities, from therapies to education to clothes-on bodywork. I'm fascinated with the human body, the science and the mysteries. Even as we understand the mechanics and physiology of the body, it is ingenious and inexplicable. I'm privileged to be helping people develop closer relationships with their bodies. It is the gateway to the human soul and spirit, the vehicle we live in, our home on this earth.
